About me

I have a BA (Hons) and a Masters in SENDI and am also a Protective Behaviours Tutor, working with children and adults with emotional and social difficulties.

As a neurodivergent person, along with my son, I have first-hand insight into the struggle of learning difficulties and am dedicated to making reading and learning much more accessible for all.

To further my education, I am starting my PhD in disability, education and special needs in September 2025 to further explore teaching methods for dyslexic learning. Embarking on further studies will allow me to focus on adopting novel teaching styles and methods to aid dyslexic learners, that have been recently developed and tested by experts in the field.

My goal is to empower and educate both young and older people who struggle with reading and maths, through personalised teaching approaches, positive reaffirmation and decreasing the stigma surrounding learning difficulties.

Lisa is so amazing. It’s hard to find the words that really do her justice. She has taken my anxious little 6 year old who barely made eye contact with friends or family and returned him into the confident, adventurous and boisterous little boy he used to be. He is thriving at school and loves learning again. He has the belief that he can do anything. Thank you Lisa. I am grateful forever.

Upon speaking with Lisa, I immediately recognized that she was the ideal individual to assist my son. Her warmth and understanding created an atmosphere akin to conversing with a friend. My 8-year-old son was unable to read and experienced challenges in managing his behaviour at school, as well as a lack of confidence and self-esteem. Week by week, his confidence increased under Lisa's guidance. She had an exceptional ability to manage his behaviour and fully comprehended his needs. He thoroughly enjoyed working with her. By the end of three weeks, he successfully read his first book, which was a remarkable achievement. His behaviour at school has significantly improved, and the school has collaborated closely with Lisa to support her efforts. This experience has not only transformed my son's life but ours as well. We have gained a deeper understanding of his thought processes, and I believe I am a better parent due to the time spent with Lisa.

2024 Since attending university, I perceived myself as having less value than others due to my dyslexia. This condition presented challenges in my career, preventing me from achieving desired outcomes. It has also impacted my mental health, resulting in years of depression. Fortunately, I found Lisa while seeking support online. I participated in a six-day reading program with her. The program was informative, and I learned a great deal about how to use my brain. By the end of the six days, my confidence and self-esteem improved alongside my reading skills. I am now able to write more cohesively, organize my thoughts better, read accurately, and retain information. Lisa's aftercare has been helpful; she remains in regular contact and provides additional support when needed.

James, 31

Our son has always struggled with self-esteem and confidence, especially in maths. Lisa tutored him for a few months and then introduced a maths programme that he enjoyed without realising he was learning. Her visual methods for teaching division and multiplication were fantastic. His maths improved significantly, and he gained a deep understanding of numbers. Now, he is in the top group for maths. Lisa continues to stay in touch and offers support whenever needed. It was a positive experience for all of us.

I am happy to travel to clients throughout the U.K. I usually work in the clients’ homes, as for children it is a more secure environment. Also, where appropriate, I can deliver programs online, although this works better for older children and adults.
