Challenge

I work with children and adults with challenges with maths and reading.

Create

I use creative multi-sensory methods, such as picture thinking strengths, to overcome difficulties.

Confidence

Everything I do builds confidence and self esteem allowing my clients to reach their true potential.

How do I do this?

I use a non phonics approach

It’s a very creative and fun process – I use plasticine to make sense of reading and maths. My approach is totally individualised and tailored to your needs.

Techniques to help learning

I have a set of techniques that help a client know when they are ready to learn, and more importantly know when they are distracted.

Continuous encouragement

I encourage clients to take responsibility for their learning, helping them to become autonomous, confident learners for life.

I have 15 years experience in both mainstream and private schools from primary to A-Level.

I have a BA (Hons) and a Masters in SENDI and I am starting my PhD in September 2025. I am also a Protective Behaviours Tutor, working with children an adults with emotional and social difficulties. I am also neurodivergent, as is my son, so I have valuable insight into how it feels to struggle, an to watch my child struggle.

I want to make the world a better place for those who have an educational difference, and help my clients achieve their true potential.

What a typical course contains

Begin with the basics

Without having concrete knowledge of letters and numbers it is not possible to improve. If there are letter and number reversals, this need to be resolved before moving forward.

Timeframe

It is a one-to-one 30–45 hours intensive program usually delivered over 5–8 days depending on the needs of the client.

Each program is tailor made to suit your needs. It is a very fun and creative process, using your creative strengths to overcome the challenges.

Lisa is so amazing. It’s hard to find the words that really do her justice. She has taken my anxious little 6 year old who barely made eye contact with friends or family and returned him into the confident, adventurous and boisterous little boy he used to be. He is thriving at school and loves learning again. He has the belief that he can do anything. Thank you Lisa. I am grateful forever.

parent of 6 yr old child

Upon speaking with Lisa, I immediately recognized that she was the ideal individual to assist my son. Her warmth and understanding created an atmosphere akin to conversing with a friend. My 8-year-old son was unable to read and experienced challenges in managing his behaviour at school, as well as a lack of confidence and self-esteem. Week by week, his confidence increased under Lisa's guidance. She had an exceptional ability to manage his behaviour and fully comprehended his needs. He thoroughly enjoyed working with her. By the end of three weeks, he successfully read his first book, which was a remarkable achievement. His behaviour at school has significantly improved, and the school has collaborated closely with Lisa to support her efforts. This experience has not only transformed my son's life but ours as well. We have gained a deeper understanding of his thought processes, and I believe I am a better parent due to the time spent with Lisa.

Chris

2024 Since attending university, I perceived myself as having less value than others due to my dyslexia. This condition presented challenges in my career, preventing me from achieving desired outcomes. It has also impacted my mental health, resulting in years of depression. Fortunately, I found Lisa while seeking support online. I participated in a six-day reading program with her. The program was informative, and I learned a great deal about how to use my brain. By the end of the six days, my confidence and self-esteem improved alongside my reading skills. I am now able to write more cohesively, organize my thoughts better, read accurately, and retain information. Lisa's aftercare has been helpful; she remains in regular contact and provides additional support when needed.

James, 31

Our son has always struggled with self-esteem and confidence, especially in maths. Lisa tutored him for a few months and then introduced a maths programme that he enjoyed without realising he was learning. Her visual methods for teaching division and multiplication were fantastic. His maths improved significantly, and he gained a deep understanding of numbers. Now, he is in the top group for maths. Lisa continues to stay in touch and offers support whenever needed. It was a positive experience for all of us.

I am based
within Worcestershire

I am happy to travel to clients throughout the U.K. I usually work in the clients’ homes, as for children it is a more secure environment. Also, where appropriate, I can deliver programs online, although this works better for older children and adults.
